Flooring
Picture
Flooring materials in homes and public/commercial buildings are chosen from a variety of beneficial characteristics, such as durability, design & fashion, heat and sound insulation and ease of maintenance.  Vinyl floor coverings are easy to lay and remove and suitable for use both domestically (residential or cushion vinyl) and publically (commercial). Cushion vinyl flooring often consists of a back coat, a base / impregnation coat, a foam layer and a top layer (wear coat). Back coat foams are often used as a sound-and shock dampening backing. Suitable resins for back-coat have properties like good foamability and often include high filler acceptance.
Chemical foam allows freedom of design due to its inhibition properties. Employed PVC-resins must have low viscosity, good inhibition performance and give a fine cell structure. Good filler acceptance is a benefit.
Printing is used to obtain variations in design. The top coat is the wear layer and preferred properties include high wear, stain, UV and chemical resistance, fire resistance, low water absorption and ease of maintenance.
Commercial flooring is more compact and often with a thicker top coat to give increased durability and often less degree of, or no, foam structure in the base coat. Safety floor is a special commercial floor with an anti-slip top layer. Suitable resins should have a pseudoplastic flow behaviour.  Carpets and vinyl tiles are other floor coverings where vinyl beneficially can be used.

We offer an extensive range of PVC qualities.  Please contact us regarding your specific requirements and we will provide one or more recommendations for resins to suit your application and process.
